Oh the times...they are a changing!

So, there have been many new developments since I last posted!!

I got a dog! (He will most likely be featured prominently here.) He is a sweet sweet Boston Terrier named PJ. Let's just have a picture!

I have wanted a dog so badly for so long. He was "free to a good home" and I think I am a good home! He is wonderful. I just found out that he is heartworm positive and we have been doing treatments for that. Hopefully he will make a full recovery and be with me for the long haul.

Also big news....
In March I started a new job in St. Louis at Fontbonne University! I am an Admissions Specialist for the new freshman students.
The position was more of a lateral move as far as responsibilities, but the pay is an increase and I should be able to do some upward climbing here. Also, it got me back to St. Louis and I just moved into an apartment of my own that I love. There will be a whole new post about the apartment and my process of making it my own.

One small project...

So, I didn't knit anything last week. BUT I did help Tyler build a rack for my future bike. For about 4 years now I have wanted a cute basket bike. I had one that a former roommate left for me, but it was really too small and broke down before I ever got to it. So, he has been welding me a beautiful new basket to go on the me-sized bike that he is rehabbing for me! How exciting! I'll add some photos soon!

Resolutions...

The list posted here is in no way exhaustive. I haven't been posting it yet because I was trying to think of more things to put on the list, but have decided to just go ahead and put it up here and then as I think of more things I will tack them on!

My list can be broken down into a few major groups: health, hobby, professional

Health:
1. Drop some pounds! I would like to get back down to a healthy weight for my height (about 5'8") (I'm working on a little ticker for the sidebar here)
2. Cook more. That ties directly into the weight loss. I eat out too much, or just don't eat at all. Neither of those are healthy options. If I am by myself at home, I have been known to eat a half a box of graham crackers over the sink to avoid cooking and dishes.
3. Grow out my nails. They are just terrible.
4. Cleaning! Keep my house clean/organized more often. Sort through my belongings and get rid of duplicate items (left by former roommates etc.) or things that I won't use anymore. Clothing, VHS tapes etc.

Hobby:
1. Knit or sew at least 1 small project a week, or one large one per month.
2. Organize my supplies/ patterns so that I know what I have. Pair yarns with patterns etc.
3. Get rid of supplies that I won't use.
4. Work on designing jewelry that will challenge my skills, not just meet assignment requirements.

Professional:
1. Send out at least one resume a day.
2. Go for the long shots. Just because I'm not 100% on the preferred qualifications, applying again won't hurt!
3. Keep my chin up!

New Year's Resolutions

I don't generally make resolutions, but have decided to do so this year. I have been wanting to keep a blog for some time now (as in years) and kept telling myself that when I got a new job, moved, and began a life that I didn't hate I would blog. Because then I would have something to blog about.

But I can't keep putting things off and waiting to start living for some later date.

So I shall be blogging. I'll try to blog a few times a week. In a few days I will finalize my goals for the year and post here. Maybe having it out in the world will make me stick to some goals a little better.
